Jake Catolico

Jake is the current Director of Roosters Lacrosse Club. He has been in the club lacrosse scene since 2018 when he was the intern for Thunder Lacrosse. Through his time at Thunder, Jake got to work with and learn from some of the best coaches in Georgia, while also working with some of the best talent in the state. Jake came to Roosters (formerly Southern Express) in 2022 with one goal in mind, to teach the game the way it was meant to be played while also creating a family atmosphere! Currently, Jake serves as the Varsity head coach at Mt Bethel Christian Academy in Marietta, Georgia.

Evan Voss

Coach Voss grew up in northern Georgia where he played at Harrison High School in 2021 where he was a two-time captain (2020,2021) and Third Team All-State in 2021. He is currently a rising senior at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC, and will graduate in May of 2025. Coach Voss is a 2x starter, currently 5th all time in assists, and has been awarded with SAC All-Tournament Team in 2022 winning the conference tournament, NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2023 which helped the Bears to its first National Championship in the program’s history. Coach Voss was named captain of the Bears for the 2023-2024 season, leading his team to a conference championship, and its second straight national championship appearance. For the 2024 season he was named 2nd Team All-Conference, 3rd Team All-Region (South), 2nd Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine, and Honorable Mention All- American by USILA. This is Coach Voss’s second year of coaching. 

Andrew Barner

Coach Barner has 15 years of playing experience and graduated from Pope High School in 2020 where he was a 3x lacrosse letterman. As a dual sport athlete, he also helped lead the wrestling team to a state championship his senior year as a captain and placed 4th individually. Now, Coach Barner is a graduate student that plays for Kennesaw State and over the past two years has been recognized as 1st team all-conference and during the 2024 season as 3rd team All-American. As a captain for the Owls, he guided the team to a 7th place finish for the 2024 season and. He has been coaching for the past 4 years.

Patrick Ammons

Patrick Ammons coaches the varsity lacrosse team at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School where he has been the head coach since 2022. A native of Marietta, GA, Coach Ammons has been around the Atlanta area lacrosse scene for 20 years with coaching stints at several Metro Atlanta high schools and Emmanuel College. During his playing career, Ammons was part of the inaugural DIII team at Piedmont University where he played midfield, faced off, and was featured on Sportscenter’s Top 10 plays for a backhanded goal on his senior night as a Piedmont Lion.

Matt Alexis

Matt Alexis is the current defensive coordinator at Holy Innocence Episcopal School. Matt started his collegiate career at Shorter University before transferring to Missouri Baptist. He will be coaching goalies.

Phil Chandler

Coach Phil grew up in Marietta Georgia. He began playing lacrosse in the Walton youth program at age of 8 years old. He played for Thunder lacrosse club for 3 seasons before playing u15 Dirty Birds. He played at Walton high school graduating in the year 2021. Now he has played 2 seasons of MCLA lacrosse for Kennesaw State University. In the 2023 season Kennesaw State University won the SELC conference championship. This is Phil’s third year coaching Express.

Austin Miller

Austin is from Roswell, GA. He attended Lassiter highschool and grew up playing for Thunder and Defenders of Troy lacrosse. He played club lacrosse at the University of Alabama before transferring to Florida State where he graduated with a bachelors in Computer Science in the spring of 2023. Austin started his coaching career with Defenders of Troy in 2018 coaching defense.
